From an adolescence Brandon Mario Bilhete has been thoroughly steeped in the world of the arts. Brought up under the artistic tutelage of his mother, father and sister – artists themselves, Brandon began his creative endeavors at a young age.
His work touches on subjects of addiction, depression, lost innocence and the beautiful ugly. Brandon uses the perceived lightness of classic cartoon characters and angelic creatures to contrast and accentuate these heavier themes.
His works blend elements of the macabre, counter-culture, psychedelia and his own observations of modern city living. His work has been exhibited in galleries and found-space locations in Edmonton, Canada and collected internationally. Brandon has also worked as an art preparator at the Art Gallery of Alberta. His work is presented at AGA Art Rental and Sales Gallery.
